New Covenant Christian Center

On December 28, 2002 at 4:00 a:m in the morning, God awoke Bishop Michael L. Smith Sr. from his dreaming. At that point God began to speak and deal with him concerning this vision. God instructed him to locate certain scriptures in the Bible, which would be the foundation of his ministry. God also gave him the name New Covenant Christian Center for this vision.

As time progressed, Bishop Smith kept this vision in the back of his mind realizing that it was for an appointed time. Many great, anointed men and women of God, who didn’t even know Bishop Smith spoke prophetically concerning this vision that he had received from the Lord. His Pastor, Bishop Mary Alexander also revealed this vision to him on December 8, 2001 during service.

Bishop Smith relocated to his home state of Louisiana during July 2003. During this transition, God began to deal with him the more concerning this vision and informed him that this would be the place where New Covenant Christian Center would be birth. During the entire month of August 2003 Bishop Smith went on a spiritual fast and consecration for instruction for this vision. It was during this time, that God revealed to him Why, How, and When. On Wednesday October 1, 2003 Bishop Smith held his first individual Bible Study Meeting at Cathedral of Faith, 3053 Oswego Street Baton Rouge, LA with his family members and a couple of friends. The following week the Bible Study Meeting was moved to the House of God Church 5279 Paige Street Baton Rouge, LA. The Lord allowed the Bible Study Meetings to grow and many people were saved, set-free, delivered, changed, and touched by God’s Word. On February 1, 2004 we held our first Worship Service at 2024 Main Street Baker, LA.

On September 2, 2005 we acquired 5 acres of land in the City of Baker, LA for our future church home and the land was paid off in full by February 2006. Well, on January 15, 2008 we closed the deal on a 14,000 square foot building at 6515 E. Myrtle Ave. Baker, LA which would be renovated for our new sanctuary. On May 5, 2008 renovations began and on Sunday, April 5, 2009 we had our first official service in our new sanctuary. Bishop Smith preached an anointed, powerful message: “He Brought Us!!” On January 10, 2010 we launched the Victory & Hope Television Broadcast which can been seen every Sunday on WBRL at 7:00 a:m. Due to the demand of the anointing on Bishop Smith life we stretch our boarders to the Baton Rouge area on October 17, 2010 with the birthing of Jericho International Ministries our second location. During November 2013, the ministry experience another stretch by launching The Sound of Praise Radio Broadcast on 1550 AM WPFC. We are expecting greater things for New Covenant Christian Center and Jericho International Ministries in the years to come. Our prayer is that God will continue to grace us with His Favor and Anointing. We are a ministry that’s on the move to reach the lost souls and to increase the Kingdom of God. We are Committed To Leading Lives Unto Jesus Christ!
